If
you’ve been recently hired at Publicis Sapient as AL1, you might be wondering
what you’re expected to do, so you can grow up the ladder. Or, if you’re
already at Publicis Sapient Bengaluru, you might want to know what is it
that you can do to grow in your career. So here you go -
1. Deliver your tasks – AL1 is an entry-level position at Publicis
Sapient across teams, including DevOps, Java, React, etc. So, you will be
mostly working on deliveries that your client requests. Your manager may also
ask you to do certain things on an ad hoc basis. What’s expected from you is – you
deliver on time. That’s why you will need good experience on the platforms and
technologies you work on.

2. Communicate well – You will most likely work in 5- or 10-days sprints
(excluding weekends). So, you will have to communicate your challenges clearly.
So, you can deliver on time.
3. Build relationships and connections – Publicis Sapient has a highly collaborative environment. To deliver your best, you may have to collaborate with different teams across Publicis Sapient. For instance, if you’re in data and analytics, you can collaborate with DevOps teams. Similarly, if you’re in Frontend, you might collaborate with UX designers.
4. Presentation skills: You will not need presentation skills in the
beginning. But as you grow, you will need excellent presentation skills.
For 2-3 years, you will mostly need these skills. When you’re promoted to AL2,
then SAL1, and SAL2, you will need -

management skills
- As you grow, you will be required to manage people and drive them towards a
common goal. At the same time, you will be responsible for their growth too.
People management becomes an essential skill as you grow at Publicis Sapient.

Project
management skills –
Lack of project management skills often delay delivery or compromises the
quality of delivery. So good project management skills are essential not just at
Publicis Sapient Bengaluru, but across the industry.

Industry
exposure
– In addition to the above skills, as a manager, you will need good industry
exposure. It means you’re on top of the industry news and trends. Lack of industry
exposure often reflects poor deliveries and innovation. Managers also work
with other managers at PS to strengthen their teams and position themselves
better and become leaders.
